We are back. What is happening now?

Tour was a success, by what I guess a DIY tour is judged by. We are all alive, we are all still friends, and we even made a couple bucks. Saw some amazing bands that went beyond the spectrum of hardcore/punk/noise/crust/metal/grind etc (Ghettoblaster, Mothercountry Motherfuckers, Deadman, Cull, Death Crisis, Ronoso, Tenderizer, Tigon, Lumberlung to name a few).  Saw some rowdy shit, people getting destroyed. Smoked some shit. People lighting roman candles in a small bar room. A huge twenty minute pillow fight in Chico. Getting offered ecstasy on Ocean Beach (Want some yellow telephones?) from some hippies. The shows were generally pretty awesome. The drives were pretty mellow as well, minus a couple close calls on the road. One tends to think about death alot, after almost colliding with on coming cars, while on a high come down, in a van with no seat belts. Yeah, not fun.

I have to say that one of the best parts of tour was getting to see Same-Sex Dictator every night.  They pretty much blew us out of the water every night. I can honestly say, there are a healthy amount of bass/drum duos in the underground. S-SD do it with way more substance, and are crushingly heavier. Bow down to the space-violence.

So we are home now. I had a plan to try and lay low, and detox my body, and generally get better after getting sick the last week. But I play in three bands, so it was right back to playing shows in Seattle, going to shows I was committed to seeing, and running shows that I booked. Not to mention being drunk the first three nights back. We have seen each other here and there since getting back. I think we all agree that writing new songs is the main purpose for all of us right now, and this writer hopes we can slow down the pace of our new songs, and put a little more angularity into our writing, so we can sound more than just a "metal" band. Whether we start writing sooner or later, I could really care less right now, as playing 2-4 shows a month is not sounding as awesome as drum building, listening to vinyl, hanging with my wife and cat, drinking, riding bikes, and hopefully playing some slow music. Freiburger took tons of pictures with the plethora of disposable cameras he brought with him. Hopefully we can post them for your viewing pleasure sometime this decade. Until then, fuck you. Listen to Born Against.
